Photos from Freshman Year in ADMU

I’m so relieved and thank the Lord that college application exams are over for me. Back then, I didn’t really have a dream school. I just prayed for the Lord to lead me where He wanted to be. I didn’t have much expectations. I didn’t even have a proper baon and ate Toblerone or McDonald’s takeout during break times! I just prayed and did my best. The rest was up to the Lord.

Against my expectations (because I was late, boo), I passed the ACET and landed in the university I had least known: Ateneo de Manila University. I didn’t have any idea what I had gotten myself into since I didn’t know anyone older than me who went there that I could consult and ask advice. I didn’t have anyone to look up to. I was truly alone. But God was my helper.

In case you didn’t know, I come from a homeschooling background until the second year of high school. I then transferred to a smaller school for my last two years of high school. So just imagine how my environment had changed. I was really in awe and was very, very delighted. I took photos to commemorate my enter into university. I decided to include some here as a form of thanksgiving to the Lord. It was taken during the first weeks of classes as a freshman student. Honestly, Ateneo de Manila University never looked prettier to me than during my first year!

Looking back, I am very grateful to the Lord for bringing me here, for all of the experiences gained, and the people I met. I believe this was the best environment for me to develop my independent personality.

They were the happiest years of my life.
